Foamy Wants Out! (1992)
We went to play tennis one summer day and we took our dog, "Foamy", with us. David and Mavis were visiting so they joined us in our Ford Explorer. Due to the law, Foamy was on a leash. We played tennis and then got into the Explorer to return home.
The vehicle had just started moving when a ruckus erupted in the back seat, with the Foamy howling like a mad dog.
Kris, who was holding the dog, cried out "Dad, the dog wants out of the car REAL BAD! He jumped down between the seat and door and is trying to get out!"
I got out of the car and walked around to where Kris was seated. The dog was jumping around in the back seat and had passed a good amount of fecal material over the back seat passengers. The leash was hanging out of the car door.
Kris had carried the dog to the car. He had closed the door with the leash hanging out. The rear tire had ran over the leash and pulled the dog down into the floor, wedging his head between the door and the seat. Finally, the leash had broken, freeing the dog to bounce around the vehicle.
We opened the door and tied the leash to the Foamy. I allowed him a few moments of strolling to regain his composure. He sure did NOT want to get back in the car!
